Q. Will massage affect the quality of my breast milk?
A. Massage helps to increase breast milk by relieving tension and, reducing the circulation of stress hormones in your body and therefore to your baby. Water drunk after massage helps promote a feeling of welbeing and quantity of breast milk.
Q. How can I be comfortable as lying on my front is sometimes uncomfortabel?
A. There are different position you can adopt e.g. lying on your side, sitting, on your back or a culmination of all. I have a massage couch and chair and I will suggest what might be more comfortable for you.
Q. Can aromatherapy oils be used in the postnally?
A. Yes but very well diluted and only specific essential oils. Particular precautions are necessary when breast feeding.
Q. Am I able to eat and drink before a massage?
A. If you can wait it is preferable. However, it is better to eat and drink small amounts if you are hungry or thirsty otherwise you may feel nauseous.
